ABOUT THE MAKEUP BAR

Co-owners Nicci Weston and Emma Watt realised that their strong passion for Makeup Artistry was mirrored in each other when they met 9 years ago on the MAC counter at Harvey Nichols, Edinburgh. Instantly they realised that it was not only their passion that they shared, but their style, goals, commitment and their love for makeup, alongside making their clients look and feel amazing!

Both Nicci and Emma excelled in their training quickly becoming fully certified MAC makeup artists and lesson certified within their first year of training with the company. They extended their offered services not only in trend based makeup applications on the counter, but also One to one Lessons, bridal and occasion makeup.

As their list of loyal clients grew they knew it was time to start a new adventure, so they decided to part ways with their MAC family to start their own individual freelance businesses, although, still working closely together, they realised that they could join together to collaboratively increase their outreach. Their success and the pace of which their businesses grew meant only one thing – they needed to open their own shop where they could teach their undeniable talent to young aspiring makeup artists, creating the most unique and largest “Makeup Bar” in the city.

In June 2016 their dreams became reality as they opened ‘The Makeup Bar’ a stylish glam haven for all clients to be pampered, spoiled and made to feel their best. Alongside 8 makeup artists, 5 of which have been trained by Nicci and Emma themselves, they are also joined by Laura Lashes – Our Lash And Brow Queen, and Hair By Ava Spence, our Hair Bar Specialist who has over 7 years experience in the industry, completing the unique team.

There is a total of 19 years artistry experience within the salon and as a team The Make up Bar pride themselves on making any client that walks through their doors leave the salon feeling confident, beautiful and GLAM! Professionalism, enthusiasm and that extra sparkle that The Make Up Bar offers every single client and bride, has meant that in only 2 and a half years the salon has gained a sterling reputation; they have no doubt that their stamp on the industry will only flourish in the future.
